Our mission is to promote wildfire safety in the Ojai Valley region through cultivation of resilience in our landscape and our community.

Ojai Valley Community Wildfire Protection Plan
Becoming a fire adaptive community – We have just completed the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (OV-CWPP) for the Ojai Valley area and the Ventura River Watershed. The OV-CWPP is designed to create a foundational understanding of wildfire hazard and risk in the Ojai Valley area. This CWPP was prepared under the framework set out by the Healthy Forest Restoration Act, a federal law, and is the first for our area. The comprehensive Plan also includes recommended mitigation actions and is geared towards helping organizations plan, prioritize, and implement projects, and to get them funded in order to continue the task of mitigating our wildfire risks and protecting our community. The OV-CWPP main document along with the Appendices, the Fine-Scale Risk Mapping with Ember Cast Modeling and Mapping and the Evacuation Assessment are available for download.
The accompanying Digital Dashboard is an interactive visual map of this hazard and risk data from the OV-CWPP and accompanying documents. It has the user capability to track data from current wildfires across the state, to look at burn areas as well as ember cast mapping and other risk analysis. The Dashboard will become the central wildfire database for our area and as data gets added over time by different agencies and organizations, the Digital Dashboard will grow into the most comprehensive database available for wildfire risk assessment and mitigation in Ventura County.
