Ojai Urban Core Initiative for Wildfire Resilience
The Urban Core Initiative identifies high risk homes and neighborhoods with a high potential of an urban conflagration. We are utilizing innovative technologies as well as on-the-ground intelligence about risk factors. Our objective is to engage neighborhood and community leaders who can help us transition high risk areas into buffer zones against wildfires. This requires our collective effort and ensures community wide defense through removal of hot spots, connective fuels and building a perimeter of protection.
What is the Ojai Urban Core?
It’s part of a pilot program in the City of Ojai and includes the high density residential area bounded by these streets:
- SHELF RD.
- OJAI AVE.
- CAÑADA ST.
- MERCER AVE./ SHADY LN.
